How to play Arrow Sudoku

Use a short break to learn the rhythm of Arrow Sudoku. Solve the Sudoku and make the digits on each arrow path sum to the digit in its circle. Look at what changes after your first action. Begin with the solo mode shown on the page. Use the example below to understand a decision.

This collection contains 8 puzzles. Progress is saved in this browser. The same puzzle can appear again; the collection is not labelled with calibrated difficulty levels.

Keep the aim in sight

Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Solve the Sudoku and make the digits on each arrow path sum to the digit in its circle. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Keep the controls in easy reach.

Step by step

  1. Select an editable cell.
  2. Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
  3. Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
  4. Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
  5. New puzzle selects another included puzzle.

Controls

Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. A new-round button replaces the current round.

A useful example

A circle 7 may have an arrow containing 3 and 4 when the normal Sudoku rules also allow it. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Consider the next action carefully.

Watch out for this

A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal.
